BEING THANKFUL

its always being on pins and needles after i add a post thinking if i will get responses and ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE THE REPLYS......

but sometimes i fail to grasp the magnitude of love and caring and compassion and just plain good old niceness of my fellow cancer fighters who though busy with their own battles fought or currently being fought always find the time to send a hug or a message just to let me know that there are people out there who care about me.

contrast that with the news cycles constantly showing blue against red and all of that crappola and yet if it wasnt for this disgusting, terrible, life taking, life transforming diesease...... we would not be sharing our inner most feelings and intimate info with one another.  as is now probably appearent, i do not hold much back and don't feel the need to because i trust my fellow sojourners and feel at ease telling you about my hairless bootie and public areas.!

YOU ALL HAVE BEEN A HUGE PART OF MY HEALING AND HAVE GIVEN ME MUCH STRENGHT AND INSITE AND TIPS IN HOW TO DEAL WITH CANCER.

I THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY SCHEDULES AND LIVES TO SEND ME A FEW WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.

YOU ALL ARE EXAMPLES OF WHAT HUMAN BEINGS SHOULD BE.....HUMANE AND CARING AND LOVING AND UNDERSTANDING!

MY WISH IS FOR EACH OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES TO HAVE A WONNERFUL, CAREFREE, LOVING AND ENJOYABLE TURKEY DAY AND WEEKEND.

I AM GOING TO DO SOMETHING THAT I HAVE NOT DONE SINCE MY DIAGNOSIS..... I WILL DRIVE THE 250 MILES ROUND TRIP FROM LOS ANGELES TO MY LITTLE CABIN IN IDYLLWILD, CA TO PROVE TO MYSELF THAT I CAN DO IT.

I THINK I CAN,,, I THINK I CAN,,,, I THINK I CAN,,,,,, I KNOW DAMN WELL I CAN DO IT..... WHERE THERE IS A WILL..... THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A WAY

Very nice post! Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Enjoy your trip, Richard :-)
Thanks for your very nice and upbeat message. I too wonder if I will get responses after I post and I am always astonished at how many people come through and soothe my innermost being. There must be something about a cancer diagnosis that brings out the awesomeness in others. I think this is a pretty special group.

We in our house wish you the very best Thanksgiving and Holiday Season. You have earned it this year and for every year in the future. You've had a wild ride. My husband seems to be beating the odds and is doing quite well. He will be able to enjoy his children and grandchildren without a doubt. On top of that we just returned from a 2 week Caribbean cruise. We are in much better shape than we expected to be at this time, for that we are grateful.

Have an wonderful trip.

Although I had tonsil cancer, I've always admired our Anus cancer group. They are so supportive of one another and I'm proud to call them my friends. Have a safe trip to your cabin and enjoy your Holiday.

Sounds wonderful!! Happy Turkey Day to you too! Hugs!
Thank you Richard for that! This group is a real godsend. I don't know why the anal group is so kind and helpful, but I personally needed them in my times of woe and in the dark days. Now I feel I can help others, and this is my mission. It only takes one comment to lift up your spirits, imagine when there are many comments. This is how it feels to me, and I love them all!
Enjoy your trip to Idyllwild, sounds like bliss. A little cabin in the woods....how lovely that must be!
I am so thankful for all of the people on this site who have supported me over the years. I'm glad you have found the same kind of support here too! I oftentimes hear people complain about such trivial things in their lives and I think to myself "you have no idea how truly difficult life can be at times." I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and a safe and enjoyable trip to your cabin. It sounds very peaceful there!

Enjoy the drive and time in nature
You CAN do it! Post pictures! This wonderful blog helped me through my recovery 8 years ago and the best I can do is read other patients posts and try to help. And let's all contribute to Jill when we can!
The only things that can stop you....you lost your drivers licence, you have four flat tires ...The roads are closed...all stations out of gas....lol...I could think of many more but you get the idea....breathe the fresh air into your lungs and thank God for all the good things in your life...you will survive....Colon cancer here...20yr survivor and know it is my sense of humor that beat the crap out of cancer..Happy Thanksgiving and safe trip....
Happy Thanksgiving Richard!

WEST LOS ANGELES V.A. MEDICAL CENTER-WESTWOOD

a week after having completed my PSA and urine tests(5/22/18), i noticed blood in the toilet and completed the F.I.T--fecal immunochemical test.... I forgot to mail it in and drove to the VA and had them give me another one, did it and that afternoon i returned it...two days later i received a call to schedule a colonoscopy for June 04, 2018. results came back positive for a ployp that was excised and also a 4-5cm malignant growth on the dentate line of the anus--right smack in/around my spinchter muscle. T3N0M0...prognosis seems to be really good as it has not traveled nor gone into nodes. scheduled to start chemo/radiation with 5-FU and mitomyacin first 4 days and last 4 days using a PICC line.

AM NOT USING THE 5-FU....INSTEAD ITS CAPECITABINE 500MG
